Integrated long in Mac OS X, Safari is Apple's flagship browser. Released in 2003 and included by default in Mac OS X Panther, Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard, Safari is based on KHTML engine derived from the rendering engine environment KDE , used in the Konqueror browser. The latter is known for its speed, which Apple has long been a workhorse in the promotion of the software.
